Cultural Events

There’s always something exciting going on at the Synagogue! Our cultural community events are interesting, engaging, and wildly entertaining — and the perfect setting to catch up with friends and neighbors old and new.

Take a look at some of our past events below, and check our Upcoming Events page to see what’s happening at the Shul.

Wine & Whiskey Tastings

Our Pre-Passover Wine Tasting provides our Young Pro’s / 20s & 30s community with the perfect opportunity to try out some Israeli wines, just in time for the holiday. These kosher libations have been curated by a local sommelier from Urban Grape!

We also host Whiskey, Beer and Wine tastings for the entire community. These casual meet-and-greets are a great way to connect with other Jews living and working in downtown!

Musical Entertainment

The Boston Synagogue is a proud supporter of the arts in Boston. In March 2015, the Shul transformed into ‘Chez Boston Synagogue’ for our Cabaret, a night of musical theater and celebration with pianist Ari Sussman and an ensemble of rising young stars from the New England Conservatory. We enjoyed music and tunes from Broadway, the movies and elsewhere, and toasted our talented creative entertainers with beverages and light refreshments.

Film at the Synagogue: Pop-Culture Movie Nights

Stop by after work to schmooze and sit back and enjoy your favorite feature films with popular Jewish themes. Movie nights are free events with light refreshments and great conversation, and are open to the community!

Past movies have included Keeping the Faith, Annie Hall, Frisco Kid, Operation Thunderbolt, Crossing Delancey, To Be or Not to Be, and Blazing Saddles. The movies are followed by curated discussions that have been led by Rabbi Ben Lanckton and other engaging speakers.

Boston Synagogue Film Fest: Come Laugh With Us!

Join us this Fall for a film series that will explore the lighter side of Jewish culture, with discussions led by talented, thoughtful, articulate cinephiles. Please check our Upcoming Events page for more information on this exciting film series!

BBQs in the Heart of Boston

There’s nothing better than an outdoor BBQ on our patio in the heart of downtown Boston. Our Open House around the High Holiday season, Hebrew School Welcome Party, and Young Pro’s Sukkah Building are among our BBQ-fueled events. Check out our Upcoming Events page for our next outdoor event on ‘the Patio.’
