Families

We welcome families of all Jewish denominations, as well as interfaith families. We are a warm inclusive community, and are excited to meet you and your family, wherever you might be on your Jewish spiritual journey.

We are working to engage families through our special family holiday celebrations, Hebrew School, and other programs for parents, grandparents, and children. We are adding fun and festive family Shabbats to our calendar this year, and will also be hosting a Bar/Bat Mitzvah Preparation Series with Rabbi Klein for parents.

  • Past programs have included:
“Birth to Bar/Bat Mitzvah: Parenting Through a Jewish Lens” parenting conversations with Rabbi Klein
  • “Madrachim Program” for post-Bar/Bat Mitzvah teens

Visit our Upcoming Events page for family-friendly events at the Synagogue. We’re always looking for ways to connect families to their Jewish heritage, and we welcome your ideas for upcoming programs!

Family Holiday Celebrations

Create treasured memories at our special family holiday celebrations. We have an opening family BBQ in September and a closing family BBQ toward the end of the school year, as well as family-friendly celebrations for Chanukah, Purim and Passover. This is a great time to meet with friends and neighbors who are raising their families in the neighborhood.

Fun for Babies and Toddlers

We recognize the growing number of families with young children in downtown Boston. Programming for this group is currently being planned. Families with young children are always welcome at the Shul, whether for Friday night dinners or holiday celebrations.

If you have programming ideas, we want to hear from you! Please contact the office at office@bostonsynagogue.org.

Become a Part of Our Hebrew School
