Our Growing Community
Our Young Professionals/20s & 30s group is about socializing and exploring the power of ‘Jewish.’ We’ve created a fresh path to finding spiritual meaning through community and interactive discussions, fun activities, and true engagement — rather than just being ‘singles-oriented’ or relying heavily on a series of guest speakers lecturing to largely passive audiences.
The Boston Synagogue is conveniently located for Young Professionals in their 20s and 30s who live or work in downtown. We’re a diverse group — grad students or professionals in the early stages of their careers as lawyers, MGH residents, or working in health/biotech, technology, software, the financial community, academia, non-profits, and more!
Since 2010, with initial seed funding from CJP, we have developed a team-building approach that engages synagogue leadership, a core group of YPs, and our Rabbinic Intern from Hebrew College, who facilitate events and activities.
YP programs at the Shul are a great way to get out and meet new people in downtown Boston in an easygoing, relaxed atmosphere. It’s also an opportunity to learn new things and explore hot topics over wine, cheese and schmooze.
Our events have included a Pre-Passover Wine Tasting, Movie Nights, our annual Beer Brewing with Ganei Beantown (where we brew and later drink our very own beer!), Purim Party with costume contest, Chanukah celebrations, monthly Friday Night Dinners, and other cultural and holiday happenings. Also join us for BBQs, sukkah building and other outdoor events on our patio area — a hidden gem in downtown!
Get together and share a l’chaim with our growing community of YPs. If you would like to get involved, please check out our Upcoming Events and stop by! We encourage YPs who are interested in a leadership role in this community. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We will be offering a YP Membership for the upcoming year at a specially discounted rate of $135 for a single membership or $250 per couple. This trial membership includes: a seat for the High Holidays and discounted pricing at our monthly Friday Night Dinners, and Passover Seder.
Dinner reservations and YP Membership payment may be made via PayPal.
