Adult Education

The Boston Synagogue is proud to offer classes, educational events, & programs for adults that empower intellectual & personal connections to great ideas & the beauty of Jewish life. You are welcome to participate in any course or event regardless of your prior Jewish educational background.

These Adult Education classes run spring & fall semester, with different subjects per semester. & Many are part of the Open Circle learning experience.

Judaism 101 (in-person)

Tuesdays (Starting September 6th) 7:00 – 8:30 PM at the Boston Synagogue!

This Judaism 101 course offered annually at The Boston Synagogue is designed for individuals and couples wishing to learn more about Judaism or who are considering becoming Jewish. Interfaith couples are encouraged to enroll together.

Open Circle (Zoom)

Thursdays (Starting October 13th) 7:00 – 8:30 PM

Open Circle Jewish Learning is led by members of Hebrew College & other institutions in the Boston area. These classes bring together curious, engaged learners with exceptional educators to dive into an array of compelling topics & practices. 

Online Learning with David Bernat (Zoom)

Thursdays  7:00 – 9:00 PM

David Bernat has a PhD in Biblical & Near Eastern Studies from Brandeis, withpublications in areas such as Jewish ritual, & representations of violence & zealotry in ancient Jewish writings. 

David has taught a winter/spring course at The Boston Synagogue every year since 2016

The Orange County Jewish Community Scholar Program shares the joy of Judaism, builds community, & celebrates our Jewish heritage with a rich adult education program & unique family experience.
