DESCRIPTION:Join us for Tikkun Leil Shavuot — A interactive nighttime study session to prepare ourselves for the moment of revelation with pizza\, beer\, ice cream\, cheese cake + lactose-free options! \nSESSION 1: THE RITUAL THAT SURVIVED…EVERYTHING: THE OFFERING OF FIRST FRUITS IN DEUTERONOMY \nCelebrate the revelation at Sinai & our receiving the Torah. Shavuot is the concluding festival of the harvest in Israel! We will study the biblical post-harvest declaration ritual recited by farmers when bringing their ‘first fruit’ offerings. \nGet a glimpse into the ways in which our ancestors connected to God\, the land of Israel\, & how they blended the spiritual with the practical. Perhaps\, we might learn from them how to do the same during these complex times. \nBREAK FOR DESSERT! \nSESSION 2: JERUSALEM OF GOLD –CELEBRATING ISRAEL THROUGH SONG! \nWe will conclude our Tikkun by learning & singing this iconic Israeli folk song.
