SUMMARY:Passover: Yizkor Memorial Prayers
DESCRIPTION:IN-PERSON & ZOOM: \nPassover Yizkor Memorial Prayers at The Boston Synagogue\nPassover Yizkor Memorial Prayers will be led by Tim Motz ; Join us for holiday  Yizkor Memorial services with Minchah / Maariv Holiday Passover Services\nthe evening of Wednesday April 8\, 2026.  Typically Yizkor is recited during morning services however due to the needs of our Boston\, downtown\, Jewish community The Boston Synagogue has pivoted to an evening option to include as many in our community to partake of this meaningful Jewish ritual. \nWhat is Yizkor \nYizkor\, in Hebrew\, means “Remember.” It is not only the first word of the prayer\, it also represents its overall theme. In this prayer\, we implore G‑d to remember the souls of our relatives and friends that have passed on. When we recite Yizkor\, we renew and strengthen the connection between us and our loved one\, bringing merit to the departed souls\, elevating them in their celestial homes. The main component of Yizkor is our private pledge to give charity following the holiday in honor of the deceased. By giving charity\, we are performing a positive physical deed in this world\, something that the departed can no longer do. The soul gains additional merit if the memory of its good deeds spurs loved ones to improve their ways. \nYizkor\, a special memorial prayer for the departed\, is recited in the synagogue four times a year\, following the Torah reading on the last day of Passover\, on the second day of Shavuot\, on Shemini Atzeret and on Yom Kippur. \nWe look forward to seeing you. See more on our Holiday page. \nCheck emails for Zoom link or email the office@bostonsynagogue.org \nIn the Spirit of Passover $18.00 donation appreciated \nWish to receive updates and current activities taking place at The Boston Synagogue join our email list and choose the topics of interest. \n\n \n\n\n\nVariable Donation\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n

SUMMARY:CANCELED Abiding - Zach Mayer Album Release Concert
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate with Zach Mayer for the release of his new album\, “Abiding\,” featuring Rabbi David Curiel.\nCelebrate with Zach Mayer for the release of his new album\, “Abiding\,”” featuring Rabbi David Curiel with BackRoom. What happens when we stay just a little longer with what we’d rather avoid? Abiding\, the debut album from Rabbi David Curiel\, explores this territory through songs that are tender\, questioning\, and rollicking. The music featured in this album serves as a way for audiences to find fragmentation toward wholeness. These songs emerged from years of healing work: grief rituals\, medicine ceremonies\, and the daily discipline of presence in an often overwhelming world. Recorded with producer Zach Mayer\, the album holds a simple understanding that we can’t heal what we won’t face and that we’re not meant to face it alone.\n\nJoin David\, Zach\, and friends for an intimate concert in the round\, journeying through the full album beginning to end. This is more than a performance! It is a shared space to breathe\, to feel\, and to abide together with what matters most.\n\n\n\nRead About Zach Mayer Here \n\nREGISTER HERE
