Navah Levine

Rabbi Navah Levine is our rabbi in residence. She has also worked as a chaplain, educator, & currently teaches at Hebrew College. She serves as a member of the executive committees of the Massachusetts Board of Rabbis & the Rhode Island Board of Rabbis.

David fishman

Dr. Fishman is an old friend of the synagogue from his student days at Harvard. He is a tenured Professor of Modern Jewish History at The Jewish Theological Seminary (JTS) in NYC. He also serves as the Director of Project Judaica, based at the Ukrainian Academy of  Sciences. He is the author of numerous books, including The Book Smugglers: Partisans,  Poets, & the Race to Save Jewish Treasures from the Nazis.

Noah Weingarten

Noah grew up here and was our lay-leader at The Boston Synagogue for many years. He is a graduate of Columbia University, the Jewish Theological Seminary, & Cardozo Law School. He is an attorney & partner at Loeb & Loeb based in its New York office

If participating via Zoom, the mahzor will be made available electronically via screenshare. Alternatively, if you would like to borrow a physical mahzor, we will make them available for pick-up/return at the synagogue. A $40 refundable deposit is required.

High Holiday tickets can be purchased à la carte — or instead of just purchasing a seat for the High Holidays – become a member!  

The pricing below & on the Membership page includes seating for all High Holiday  services plus Break-Fast! It includes one or two HH seats, depending on whether it’s a single or family membership, plus a variety of additional amenities & events throughout the  year.

And if you are an undergraduate student or Young Professional (YP, 40 & under), please visit our Membership page. YP Membership for one, including a holiday seat & break-fast, is $175.00, & for two, it’s $275 – and for undergraduates, it’s $100.00. 

Even if you just come for the High Holidays – your membership is more than just a holiday transaction. It helps support an active Jewish community in downtown Boston – that’s here for one another.

Kol Nidre Food Drive

The Jewish Family & Children’s Services is requesting donations to help feed those in need.

Please bring your food items to our Kol Nidre Service on Sunday, September  20th at 6:15 PM.

Any kosher, non-perishable food items would be greatly appreciated, however there is a specific request for:

  • Canned tuna (preferably no salt added)
  • Canned salmon (preferably no salt added)
  • Whole grain crackers
  • Whole grain cereal
  • Raisins
  • Kosher vegetarian low-sodium soup (We suggest Trader Joe’s boxed soups and the Amy’s brand)

All items must be labeled as kosher or parve.

If you are attending Kol Nidre services remotely, you can make a donation to Jewish Family & Children Services at jfcsboston.org & designate your donation for The Family Table.
