A Reflective Evening of Tisha B’Av at The Boston Synagogue 2026

Join us for a deeply reflective evening of Tisha b’Av at The Boston Synagogue. Located in Boston’s historic Jewish West End neighborhood, our sanctuary is home to the last standing immigrant shul congregation in the area. As evening shadows cascade through our iconic Bauhaus-style sloped skylight ceilings, we will gather in this historic space to observe this solemn day and seek a vision of hope for the future. 

Tisha b’Av (the 9th day of the month of Av) memorializes the destruction of Jerusalem and the loss of the ancient Jewish state. Throughout history, other calamities befell the Jewish people on this date, including the expulsions from England and Spain, Holocaust, and October 7th. While we grapple with despair on this day, we also come together to look toward tomorrow.
