This year, we’ve prepared a “Sinai Kit” to help you navigate the “Still Small Voice” and the thunderous revelation of Torah.
–join Hannah Limov for an evening of learning and festive foods as we celebrate Shavuot in downtown, Boston at The Boston Synagogue.

- The Sustenance: holiday favorites e.g. cheesecakes, including lactose-free options and other festive, holiday foods and drinks.

What does it mean to encounter the Infinite? This Shavuot, we invite you to step away from the noise and listen for the “Still Small Voice.” From the thunderous synesthesia of Sinai to the quiet intimacy of memory, join us for a three-part journey of revelation, community, and transition.
Part I: Erev Shavuot | Listening to the Still Small Voice
Thursday, May 21 | 6:30 PM
We begin our festival with an embodied exploration of Sinai. How did the Israelites experience the Divine? Was it a deafening sound or a quiet awe?
**Estimated time subject to slight variation – recommend 6:30 PM Sinai experience.
- 6:30 PM: Ma’ariv
- 7:00 PM: Session with Hannah Limov: Embodied Experience on Sinai. Explore how our senses cross when we encounter the “awful” and wonderful presence of G?d.
- 8:00 PM: The Dairy Feast: A festive nosh and shmooze featuring gourmet pizza, artisanal cheesecake (with lactose-free options!), and cold beverages.
- 8:30 PM: Session with Michael: The Ten Commandments. A journey through Torah and commentary on what it means to become a people in covenant.

Part II: Friday Night Shabbat

Continue the festival spirit as we welcome Shabbat Led by Tim Motz, this service bridges the revelation of Shavuot with the peace of Shabbat. A beautiful moment to reflect on the “Still Small Voice” within the rhythm of our weekly rest.
Part III: Shabbat Morning & 2nd Day Shavuot (Including Yizkor)

On this sacred morning, we gather for the reading of the Ten Commandments and the Yizkor Memorial Service. In the quiet moments of remembrance, we find that the Divine often speaks most clearly through the legacy of those we have loved and lost.

- The Kiddush: A celebratory dairy spread featuring traditional holiday cheesecakes and treats.
- A Special Farewell: Join us as we offer a heartfelt thank you and send-off to Tim Motz as he completes his transformative Rabbinic Intern year at The Boston Synagogue.
